So I have decided that due to the fact that I have deployed many Tier 1 and up ISP networks, that I should write an article detailing an approach that I have recently used to deploy a fibre ISP in a business park with multiple tenants. So here Goes. Pictures first. 🙂
At the Core of this Mini ISP deployment is the Mikrotik CCR1016-12S-1S+ Cloudcore Router.
This device is very powerful in that it can process massive amounts of data and throughput. The specs of the throughput are as below:
The device is setup with the entire available IP range on its SFP+ WAN Port. We then allocate internal network IP’s to the various clients and fwd the static public ips to the clients on prem GW’s. All very simple routing and switching.
I have built many high level ISP networks and this little network was quiet refreshing in that it was really easy to setup. I can also allocate PPPoE Accounts to the clients which in turn would yield the same results however with it being all static IP based business class fibre, its best to just assign a static ip to the client and fwd the external traffic to their public IP to their internal GW IP Address. Easy Peezy.
This is already in play and working well. Will give you some feedback once I have implemented some ques and traffic control on the system.
Cheers for now.
